to our users, data is at core of every NEW WORK products and
companies. Our Data Scientists and Data Engineers work amongst
other projects on bringing state-of-the-art algorithms into
production, establishing our new A/B testing platform, and/or
create highly scalable solutions that serve millions of users. From
every-day decision-making to advanced machine-learning based
products, NEW WORK has invested over the years into its data
technology footprint, making use of technologies such as Hadoop
(e.g. Hive, Spark), Kafka, Cassandra, Elasticsearch, etc.
NEW WORK SE is now looking to welcome talented Data Scientists at
all level (from junior to senior) to join our 300 highly skilled,
deeply motivated and dedicated engineers and product developers
throughout our various locations in Europe (Hamburg, Barcelona,
Valencia, Porto, etc.), sharing a healthy culture of learning from
each other via pairing, communities of practice, joint hackweek
projects etc.
- Solve challenging problems in the context of search,
recommender systems and machine learning. - Perform analyses on massive amounts of data and build scalable
machine learning models, ranking algorithms and help automating
machine learning processes. - Develop new and enhance algorithms and services using
technologies such as Scala, elasticsearch, and Hadoop technologies
(e.g. Hive, MapReduce). - Work in a cross-functional team and collaborate closely with
Data Engineers and Analysts to setting up the (technical) design,
evaluation of new algorithms, machine learning models, supporting
the implementation and other data-driven features and
services.
- MSc or PhD in Computer Science, Math or similar
discipline. - Hands-on experience in exploring large datasets (e.g. with
Hive, R, Python, etc.) and creating machine learning models. - Solid programming skills (preferably also in Scala/Java).
- Experience in implementing scalable models and algorithms that
process large datasets and are used in production services. - Theoretical and practical knowledge in the information
retrieval or machine learning domain (ideally, experience in
developing ranking models). - Proficient English language skills (German is not
required). - A positive mindset and the social skills to work in a highly
international and distributed setup, and desire to learn and share
your knowledge with your Community of Practice. - Prompt to laugh. Daily. Multiple times.
