Each of
the 20 trainee positions is unique, linked
to a department within a specific business area and a working
location. This means that each position has its own specific
responsibilities, challenges and matching profile. 

Who are you?

Whether you want a climate smarter
career as an energy specialist, visionary manager or inspirational
project lead in the energy sector, we offer you these
possibilities within the Trainee Programme. We are
looking for recent graduates with an academic agree or students who
will graduate before September 2020. You are fluent in
English. Skills in other world languages can be a merit.
Furthermore, you are willing to relocate for possible assignments
throughout the organization. Of course, you identify
yourself with our principles: active, open, positive and
safe. 

As a Trainee Data Engineer you recognize yourself in the following
qualifications:

  • Academic degree of a relevant
    mathematical discipline, such as Econometrics, Engineering,
    Mathematics, Physics or similar
  • Knowledge in Data organisation, Data
    structuring and machine learning methods
  • Python Programming knowledge
  • Good communication skills
  • Fluent in English and preferably German 

What do we expect from you as Trainee Data
Engineer

This position is located in the
Analysis Department which supports Vattenfall’s trading activities
increasing its focus on machine learning. As part of the team you
will identify and work on machine learning use-cases and support
the development of the needed infrastructure. 

Key responsibilities:

  • Being an integral part of developing
    Machine Learning within Business Area Markets, the trading unit in
    Vattenfall
  • Identifying, gathering and processing
    data for Machine Learning use-cases and setting up and managing the
    corresponding data pipelines
  • Developing and implementing algorithms
    and tools based on Machine learning in order to solve problems and
    improve processes and forecasts
  • Cooperating closely with customers in
    interpreting results and making recommendations
  • Cooperating closely with IT and other
    stakeholders in setting up sustainable data infrastructures for
    enabling Machine Learning in BA Markets and Vattenfall group
  • Data-driven analysis for commercial
    decision support based on the needs of the business
